Full Blast Creative's Month in Review - May 2022

Full Blast Creative had the opportunity to manage a wide array of print and digital projects throughout the month of May, including paid advertising, website management, and social media services. Our Calgary team also hosted our first in-person workshop following a pause on events during the pandemic. These workshops are open to anyone interested in marketing to learn firsthand agency secrets that will help you get your best marketing results.

As usual, every month we try to select and share a handful of projects or industry updates our clients and prospective clients may find interesting. Check out some of the key updates from this month!

Print and Digital Assets for CASE

Full Blast Creative was hard at work in May helping our client at the Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE) prepare for their annual conference with website updates, print work, and video content.

Our website development team updated and created three learning and development landing pages for the official CASE website, including the Digital Literacy, Solution-Focused Career Practitioner, and Employer Training pages. Our team ensured that these pages weren't just informative and user-friendly, but also accessible for website users experiencing physical and neurodivergent disabilities by utilizing the Accessible for WordPress plugin. This is a cost-effective plugin that can improve the accessibility of your website for all web visitors.

For the annual CASE conference, Full Blast Creative designed five unique event banners and pop-up stands for various conference booths. With the designs approved by CASE, we reached out to our print connections in order to ensure the best quality with the quickest turnaround. The CASE conference was also in need of three print ads for the CASE conference magazine to be offered at the event. Full Blast Creative delivered with three designs to suit their needs and to align with the magazine requirements for design and print standards. The CASE conference was a huge success and we were again delighted to have the opportunity to support inclusive workplaces and education in Canada!

The Latest Google Core Update

Google performed its latest Core Update during the period between May 25th to June 9th. These types of updates are typically conducted several times a year in order to improve the overall ranking process within search engine results and are designed to increase the relevancy of Google search results and to keep pace with the ever-changing web.

Google Core Updates generally occur without public notification, but when they do, it means that website owners can expect to see drops or gains in their rankings throughout the update period. May was one of these months and Google sent out an announcement to the public. For those affected, these drops can be startling and may cause individuals to look for a fix to regain any positions that were lost. Despite this, Google tries to assure website owners that there is nothing wrong with the pages that may be performing less well in these updates. These updates do not target specific pages or sites but rather target Google's own systems overall. Instead, Google recommends combating drastic drops by focusing on consistent quality content.

If you're interested in learning more about Google Core Updates and how to self-assess your site's content, click here to read an informative article on core updates and how to create quality content for Google, or reach out to Full Blast Creative today to get professional insight on how your website is performing and where you could improve!
