How to Remove a Connection on LinkedIn

You have the right to scrutinize who you decide to connect with online.

Today I learned a new skill. How to remove a connection on LinkedIn.

Honestly? I hopped on Google to find out how to do it. As someone who values my connections and meeting new people, I didn’t really expect the need to delete a contact. In this case, I prematurely accepted a request to connect without considering why the individual might want to reach out to me. That in and of itself is a good lesson – you  have the right to scrutinize who you connect with online particularly when it comes to your career and business.

Google proved to be fruitful but I thought I’d break it down into easy visual steps for anyone else who wants to cull back a connection or two. Enjoy!

1) Open LinkedIn and click on Network then Contacts.

2) On the right side of the screen, click on Remove Connections.

3) Check off the contacts you’d like to delete or type in the name in the search box. (I’m picking Chelsea just for fun!)

4) Click the blue box titled Remove Connections. As the picture notes, the contact will not be informed that you’ve deleted them.

And that’s it friends. I hope this helps you out!
